The Cambridge Summer School of Theology seeks to rekindle an excitement about the ‘height, depth and breadth’ of the Christian view of reality. This year Dr. John C. Collins will be examining the inerrancy, accuracy, and authority of scripture.

How do we know that the Bible is true?

What makes a reliable translation?

Are there errors in the Bible?

Do we have the right books in the Bible?

How do we decipher sound interpretations?

Though not for specialists, the content of this course will be academic in nature and will assume a basic understanding and grounding in the Christian faith.

With a Ph.D. in Hebrew language, Dr Jack Collins is Professor of Old Testament at Covenant Theological Seminary, St. Louis. He is the author of 'The God of Miracles' (IVP, 2001), 'Science and Faith: Friends or Foes?' (Crossway, 2003), and 'Genesis 1-4: A Linguistic, Theological, and Literary Commentary' (P&R, 2006). He has also had numerous articles published in technical journals.

Dr. Collins was Old Testament Chairman for the English Standard Version of the Bible, and is Old Testament Editor for the forthcoming English Standard Version Study Bible. He is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America.

'Jack Collins is well known for his clear, concise and stimulating teaching. Those who have read his writings, as I have, will have benefited greatly from his ability to distil extensive scholarship in an accessible and engaging manner. As one who teaches the doctrine of Scripture to Masters students myself, I encourage anyone remotely interested to avail themselves of this great opportunity.'
- Bob Letham, Senior Tutor in Systematic and Historical Theology, Wales Evangelical School of Theology
