"why i am not a christian"

a christian critique

Kevin Moss

Summary

Whilst reading the works of the new atheists (in particular Sam Harris and Daniel Dennett), Kevin Moss discovered a consistent pattern: they all appear to reference Bertrand Russell’s 1927 lecture, “Why I am not a Christian”.  This one piece is held as a kind of ‘sacred text’ of the new atheism. In this article, Moss discusses the lecture section by section, showing it to be a misinformed critique of Christian belief. The full text of Russell’s lecture is also given.
