This year saw an amazing and powerful demonstration of God's love and the value of Christian fellowship as Jerram Barrs led the course on what it means to become more like Christ.
"Thanks very much for all your hard work in presenting the Cambridge Summer School of Theology. Jerram Barrs's lectures on sanctification were excellent and the fellowship was most enjoyable. I pray that your work will expand. The CSST fills a critical gap in the body of Christ today by providing theological and spiritual formation for the thoughtful believer at a level that most churches are unable to offer. As such, it is a great complement to the church and an important resource in equipping potential leaders in a day when theologically sound, spiritually vibrant leadership is desperately needed." Thomas A. Tarrants, III, President C.S. Lewis Institute
Here is what some of the other students had to say:
“Jerram, with his gentle and gracious demeanor, has unpacked, in a practical way, what it is to be on a journey to sanctification. Sanctification was before a theological concept more than anything else. It is now something I can hope in the Lord to impact at every level of my life starting with the inner heart.”
“Jerram’s love of God shone through all his lectures. He is an inspiring speaker who has a wonderful gift of making those listening challenge their preconceptions and see great truths in a fresh and living way.”
“The reality of a sanctified life encourages me to see how much the Holy Spirit can change us as we seek to follow the Law of the Lord from our heart.”
“God really used it to teach me about my need for daily dependence on him to live every part of my life. Gave me great teaching to help me think through my ministry more.”
Each year, CSST seeks to rekindle an excitement about ‘Big Picture’ theology – the ‘height, depth and breadth,’ of the Christian view of reality laid out through the pages of scripture.'

The New Testament calls every Christian to grow in maturity. Our sanctification is expressed in increasing conformity to the likeness to Christ and in growth in holiness. Led by Jerram Barrs, this course will explain and explore the doctrine of sanctification: how it is presented in Scripture and how God brings transformation into our lives - for just like justification, sanctification is the work of God’s grace through faith.
The Lecturer
Prof Jerram Barrs, a full member of faculty at Covenant Seminary in St Louis, MO, has previously worked with L'Abri and as an International Presbyterian Minister. The Venue

Centrally located, students can access the bustling city centre in minutes or stroll down the peaceful Backs straight from Westminster's gate. Residents' costs include breakfast and the evening meal. Non-residential fees also include the evening meal, as taking the opportunity to dine together is key in building community and fostering discussion. and the Non-residential fees also include the as taking the opportunity to dine together is key in building community and fostering discussion.
